What you should know about the fair and how to prepare to it

  • Admission to the fair

The admission to the fair is only possible with a ticket. The tickets are available from 1 December 2016 and they can be purchased in the online ticket shop. You can buy a one-day ticket or a ticket for all days of the fair (permanent ticket).
A one-day ticket purchased via the online service costs € 36.00, at the fair — € 38.00.
A permanent ticket (for all days) purchased via the on-line service costs € 47.00, at the fair — € 57.00.

  • Travel to Nuremberg

By airplane: There are no direct flights between Kyiv (or any other Ukrainian city) and Nuremberg.
However, Nuremberg is an international airport which can be accessed by scheduled flights with one transfer in other European airports. To buy a ticket to a scheduled flight, contact representative offices of international airlines, travel companies or buy tickets online.
Note: Please note that most airlines now offer flights without baggage, with hand luggage ONLY. Please, read carefully the rules for the caring of the hand luggage before purchasing tickets.
You can also combine your travel, choosing low-cost airlines WizzAir flying to Memmingen Airport. You can get to Nuremberg from Memmingen by a fast train. Here you can book electronic train tickets. The travel time from Memmingen to Nuremberg by a direct train is 3 hours, the regular ticket price is about € 70; you can also book a ticket valid for certain trains which costs about € 29.
Note: mentioning BioFach in notes while booking a train ticket you will get a discount.

By bus: The travel time by bus is about 30 hours. The price of a single ticket as of 05.11.2016 starts from UAH 1600 per person depending on a carrier: https://busfor.ua.

By car: the distance from Kyiv to Nuremberg is about 1,644 km, which takes at least 20 hours (please, note the necessity to cross the border). Calculate the route.

  • Travelling within Germany and Nuremberg

To travel within Germany: you can either rent a car or travel by railway.

Getting around in Nuremberg: the most convenient means of public transport in Nuremberg is the underground. If you have a BioFach visitor ticket, you can travel free of charge during the fair from 10 по 13 February. The exhibition centre is at Messe station, U11 underground line.   • Visa

To enter the European Union, you must get a Schengen visa.

  • Staying in Nuremberg

!!! Dear visitors to the International Fair BIOFACH, please, note that the fair is visited by approximately 40,000 visitors every year, so the prices grow closer to the fair dates.   • Miscellaneous

The Internet: As a visitor of BIOFACH, you can get access to the high speed internet throughout the exhibition venue. You can get WLAN (Wi-Fi) access for EUR 5 per hour with minute-based billing or for a whole day for EUR 25.

Parking: parking at the territory of the fair is fee-based.

Weather: the average air temperature in Nuremberg in February is 4 — 8 С during the day and 0 — -4 С at night, possible precipitation.

Success story

BIOFACH is a leading international fair of organic products which is held annually in February in Nuremberg (Germany). The fair will be held for the 27th successive year. It all began with 197 exhibitors in the Ludwigshafen Stadthalle in 1990. Some 2,500 visitors attended the «1st European Trade Fair for Organic Food and Natural Products» at that time.

The exhibition was organized in Nuremberg for the first time in 1999 and brought together as many as 1,276 exhibitors and more than 21,000 visitors. Since then BIOFACH has developed into the World´s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food and is firmly established.

The natural cosmetics segment was separated from the exhibition in 2007 and since then has been organized parallel to BIOFACH as VIVANESS (International Trade Fair for Natural and Organic Personal Care).

In 2016 2,325 companies from over 80 countries took part in BIOFACH, including producers, traders, associations, certification bodies and other organizations involved in organic business. The fair was visited by 48,533 visitors from 130 countries.
